WordPress development services, done properly

My WordPress development services cover everything from a new custom theme to fixing the site you already have. I write clean code, keep plugins to a minimum, and build SEO into the theme itself. You get a site that’s fast, secure and easy to edit, from one developer who stays accountable after launch.

What my WordPress development services cover

Have a problem not on this list? It’s probably still WordPress.

  • Custom themes

Designed for your brand and built from scratch, or from a lean starter theme.

  • Gutenberg blocks

Custom blocks for your content, so editors can build pages without breaking the layout.

Features that off-the-shelf plugins can’t handle well. See custom WordPress plugin development.

  • WooCommerce

Product catalogs, checkouts and integrations. See WooCommerce stores.

  • Speed work

Caching, image optimization and code cleanup. See WordPress speed optimization.

  • Fixes and rescues

Broken layouts, plugin conflicts, white screens and hacked sites.

  • Migrations

Moving hosts or moving from another platform to WordPress, with redirects in place.

  • Multilingual sites

Sites in more than one language, with clean structure and multilingual SEO set up properly.

Custom WordPress development without the page-builder bloat

Page builders make it easy to drag things around. They also add heavy code to every page, which slows the site and makes it harder to rank. Custom WordPress development takes a different route.

I build a theme around your design, then turn each section into a reusable block. Your team picks blocks from the editor, fills in text and images, and publishes. The design holds together, and the code stays lean.

WordPress SEO services built into the code

Most WordPress SEO services start with a plugin and stop there. A plugin helps, but it can’t fix a slow theme, messy headings or duplicate pages. I handle the parts plugins can’t reach.

  1. 01

    Clean heading structure

One H1 per page, logical H2s and H3s, built into the templates.

  2. 02

    Schema markup

Structured data for your business, services, FAQs and articles, so search engines read your pages accurately.

  3. 03

    Fast templates

Lean code, deferred scripts and properly sized images, tested against Core Web Vitals.

  4. 04

    Tidy URLs and archives

No thin tag pages or duplicate archives eating your crawl budget (the number of pages Google is willing to crawl on your site).

  5. 05

    Search Console and analytics

Connected and checked, with a sitemap submitted on launch day.

  6. 06

    Redirects

Old URLs mapped to new ones, so you keep the rankings you’ve earned.

Why hire a WordPress developer who also does SEO

When you hire a WordPress developer, you’re trusting someone with the engine of your business. Here’s what working with me looks like.

  • One person, start to finish. I plan, build, optimize and support the site. No hand-offs, no finger-pointing.
  • Plain-English updates. You’ll know what I’m doing, why, and what it costs, before I do it.
  • You own everything. Code, theme, hosting account and logins stay in your name.
  • Remote, organized. I work with clients worldwide. Reviews happen on a staging site you can open anytime.
  • Honest scoping. If you don’t need a rebuild, I’ll say so.

“If I say I’ll reply tomorrow, I reply tomorrow. You’ll always know what I’m working on and what it costs.”

Questions about WordPress development services

Something else? Ask me directly.

How much do WordPress development services cost?

It depends on scope. A focused fix might take a few hours, while a custom theme with blocks and integrations is a larger project. Fixes start from $150, and custom builds from $2,500. You’ll get a written, fixed quote before work starts, and I’ll flag anything that could change it.

When do I need custom WordPress development instead of a theme?

A ready-made theme can work for a simple site. Custom WordPress development makes sense when speed and SEO matter, when your content doesn’t fit a template, or when your team keeps breaking layouts in a page builder. It also suits sites that need integrations or features that off-the-shelf themes handle badly.

What should I check before I hire a WordPress developer?

Ask who owns the code and accounts, how updates and backups are handled, and whether they test on a staging site. Ask to see real work and how they handle SEO and speed. Most importantly, check they explain things clearly. You’ll be working together for longer than the build.

Do you offer WordPress SEO services on existing sites?

Yes. I can audit and fix an existing WordPress site without rebuilding it: heading structure, schema, speed, redirects, duplicate pages and Search Console errors. Start with the free audit. It shows which fixes are likely to matter most, so you can decide what to do first.

Can you fix a hacked or broken WordPress site?

Usually, yes. I’ll take a backup, find the cause, clean the files and database, update everything and close the hole that let it happen. Then I’ll set up monitoring and backups so it’s easier to recover next time. If it’s urgent, mention it when you book a call.

Do you work with page builders like Elementor?

I can maintain and fix sites built with page builders. For new builds, I usually recommend custom blocks instead, because they’re lighter and harder to break. If your team relies on a builder, we can talk through a phased move, or keep it and optimize what’s there.
