01 Who I am
This website is run by Asif Ameer (“I”, “me”, “my”), an independent freelancer. I am the data controller for personal data collected through this site. That means I decide how and why it is used.
For any privacy question, email asif@asifameer.com. I answer these myself.
02 What data I collect
Data you give me
- Contact and audit forms: your name, email, phone number (optional), company, website URL, budget range and any message you write.
- Booking a call: your name, email, chosen time and any notes, through my online booking calendar.
- Client work: project details, login details you share for your website, invoices and payment records.
- Email: anything you send me directly.
Data collected automatically
- Analytics: pages visited, time on page, device type, browser, approximate location (country/city level) and how you arrived. I use Google Analytics 4, and only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Cookies and similar tools: see my Cookie Policy for the full list.
- Server logs: IP address, date and time of visit and pages requested, kept by my hosting provider for security.
I don’t knowingly collect special category data (such as health or religious beliefs). Please don’t send it to me.
03 Why I use your data, and my legal basis
Under GDPR and UK GDPR, I need a lawful reason (“legal basis”) for each use.
04 Who I share data with
I don’t sell or rent your data. I share it only with service providers who help me run my business, under written agreements that protect it:
I may also share data if the law requires it, or to protect my legal rights.
05 International transfers
I work with clients worldwide, and some of my providers store data outside the UK and EU. When that happens, I rely on safeguards the law recognizes, such as adequacy decisions, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
06 How long I keep data
After that, I delete or anonymize it.
07 Your rights
If GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data I hold about you.
- Correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”), where the law allows.
- Restrict how I use it.
- Object to uses based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time.
- Port your data to another provider in a common format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier use.
To use any right, email email asif@asifameer.com. I’ll reply within one month. I may ask you to confirm your identity first.
You can also complain to a data protection authority. In the UK, that is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). In the EU, it is the authority in your country. I’d appreciate the chance to fix things first, so please contact me.
08 How I protect your data
I use secure hosting, encrypted connections (HTTPS), strong passwords, two-factor authentication and limited access. Client logins are stored in an encrypted password manager and removed when a project ends. No system is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable steps and will tell you, and the regulator where required, if a breach affects you.
09 Children
This site is for businesses. It isn’t aimed at children, and I don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
10 Links to other sites
This site links to other websites. I’m not responsible for their privacy practices. Check their policies before sharing data.
11 Changes to this policy
I’ll update this page if my practices change. The “last updated” date at the top shows the latest version. For big changes, I’ll add a notice on the site.
